Child Violence In Afghanistan And Pakistan

Child Violence In Afghanistan And Pakistan

by Gospel B / Tuesday, 09 January 2018 / Published in Social
Afghanistan is an Islamic country, women are not allowed to go outside, they are the inferior gender, invisible and have very less rights due to which violence against child abuse is higher in these countries. It is much easier for them to get a boy than a woman. Afghanistan has an old tradition called dancing boy or bacha bazi, where a boy aged 10 to 25 is dressed into women clothes and has to dance in front of the people but these boys not only perform but are also sexually abused by the men after the party. The poor young boys are easy target of the traders. And also, after doing all the inhuman things to a poor boy, the traders or abusers think that they are improving the life of thatinnocent boy by providing them food, money and shelter to live. They work till they turn 25 and after which they get retired from the bacha bazi.
Story of child abuse in Pakistan is little different from Afghanistan but the abuse against the children is not less, four million children in Pakistan start working at the age of 5 or 6 as ragpickers or works in small shops or garages and one and half million children live in the streets by picking garbage or begging and most of them are addicted to drugs due to which they are the easiest attacks by the abusers in small or large part of the country.
Male child abuse is in high number, 10 out of 9 street child faces the abuse at the age of 8 and Pakistani’s are blind eye about the abuse going on there country. Sometimes to get some money the child sell themselves and 1 out of 10 child is killed by the abuser to hide their identity.
According to WHO 2015 survey, gender inequality is one of the main cause of the child abuse in these countries.
